Scale Models
A specialty
of Visualization Navigator is model construction. VN builds
miniature project models to provide an enhanced understanding
of project issues to clients and stakeholders. Our models
may depict construction scenes, remediation techniques, or
specific project events.

Collectively,
stop-motion photography and animation techniques are employed
to enhance visuals using the model as a backdrop. Next, digital
techniques are used to modify or create “virtual”
scenes within the model environment. This process can greatly
assist in the conceptual design phase of a project.
VN operates
an in-house model building shop. Our models range in size
from small transportable versions to exact scale model scene
recreations occupying an entire room. Due to the close interaction
with Project Navigator’s project professionals, a high
level of accuracy is ensured.

In early 2010, our staff built a series of scale models to assist with outreach and communication activities for the planned cleanup at the former Asarco Smelter Site in El Paso, TX.
